Starting the Day Right

I can’t believe it’s already March! It feels like just yesterday that the new year has starting and boy….time is flying. I know I haven’t been very consistent, but I will start to be. With the new month just starting and new things about to change in my life, I wanted to come on and give a little insight on just how to have a positive attitude on mostly everything in your life.

It all starts from the time you wake up in the morning. Now, I know we aren’t all morning people, I definitely am not, but we can all do things to make us start off our days right. Everyday is a new day which means a fresh start. This is a new opportunity to have an even better day than yesterday. In my opinion, I follow a morning routine to get my mind in the right place and this always helps me start my day on a good note. I think everyone should think about what their morning routine is and if you don’t have one, simply make one and try to sick with it. You will start to notice that a routine is very important for your body and will help you make sure you do all the things necessary in order for you to start your day.

This may sound a bit off, but my morning routine actually starts aa little bit before I go to bed the night before. A crucial part of my start of the day includes planning out the next day. For me, I am the type of person to plan out every second of the day the night before if I can. Sometimes things come up during the day and so you can’t really help those, but most of the time I plan ahead and I am able to. I know I have to go to class every morning and wake up at 7:30 AM every day of the week. Then if I have to go grocery shopping, plans to hangout with my friends, a meeting, etc., I will plan these in my day the night before. This is extremely important to me because I wake up not feeling confused because I know exactly what my day is going to basically consist of.

I hate when things don’t always go as planned or if I go someplace not having a plan in mind. Not knowing what i’m going to do or forgetting what I need to get done each day adds on stress that I try to avoid as much as possible in my life. Writing things down is always good because it takes a load off of your mind because you won’t have to remember everything. You’ll have everything you need to get done on a paper or on your phone that you can easily look back on to remind you. In this plan, I not only write down events that I have to go to, but I also write down chores or school business that needs to get done. Setting small goals for yourself everyday helps you live a productive life and forces you to get up and do things that aren’t always “fun”. This isn’t just a “morning routine” thing, but also a great life lesson to keep in the back of your mind, if it isn’t already. In my opinion, goals are a great thing to abide by and keeps your life organized and stress-free.

When I wake up in the morning, due to my alarm that goes off at exactly 7:30 AM every morning, I go straight to the bathroom and brush my teeth and wash my face. Then, I change my clothes, moisture my face, sometimes put on some makeup and I head right out the door to go to school. I never eat breakfast because I don’t have an appetite in the morning and also, it’s way too early for me to even have the energy to be eating. I’ve been doing this routine for as long as I can remember and it’s been working for me ever since. As you can see from my routine, your routine doesn’t have to be anything spectacular where you go for a run every morning and read a book or do some yoga to get the blood flowing. If these work for you, that’s great but my point is this…. A routine is just something that you should do every morning and every night just to get your body in a cycle. Whatever works for you, keep doing it. Our bodies get into this cycle when we continuously do the same things every day and sometimes change could be good or it can be bad and we want to eliminate the “bad” as much as possible. Not saying that change is bad, it just can be and it’ll be better to find a routine and stick with it for as long as possible.

By following these tips and tricks on how to start your day off on the right foot, it could really make you feel fresh and you’ll be ready to get your day started. Especially if you aren’t a morning person, because i’m totally not, i’ve noticed by having this mental routine every morning makes you feel less “sluggish”. I would recommend you to try it if you don’t already have a morning routine or at least try and plan out your days if you think you’re also that type of person who likes to live their lives by planning things out ahead of time.

If you would like me to talk about night time routines leave a comment below. I would also love to hear the people’s morning routines or something that you always do to start the day off on a good note. Hearing other people’s ideas may also inspire me or someone else to try do the same. Please leave a comment below and hope everyone had a good start to the month today!
